Information We Collect

CDL Hub Mobile App — Location, Camera, Chat and Notifications

The CDL Hub Android and iOS apps provide nearby road incidents, cameras, weather, fuel information and optional background road-hazard notifications. When you allow location access, the app uses GPS location, heading and location accuracy to show road information. Background road-alert monitoring is optional and can be enabled and stopped in the app under More. While monitoring is enabled, the app periodically sends your location to CDL Hub servers even when the app is not in use so we can identify nearby hazards. Location access is not required to search states and routes manually.

To deliver notifications, the app may store a device identifier, a Firebase Cloud Messaging or Apple Push Notification token, your most recent permitted location, heading and alert delivery history. Stale location coordinates are cleared after 24 hours without an update, and inactive device records are removed after 90 days by a scheduled retention process. Alert delivery records are normally kept for up to 14 days to prevent repeated notifications.

Our temporary driver chat lets you choose a nickname and share text and optional images. Chat messages and their approximate location stamps are visible publicly to other chat users for up to 24 hours. Uploaded chat photos are hosted on our server at images.cdljob.info and scheduled to be deleted after 24 hours, with cleanup checked periodically. Please do not share personal documents, addresses, license plates or other sensitive details in photos or messages. Chat reports may be retained for up to 30 days for safety and moderation. Users can block a nickname's device in their own app and report abusive chat messages.

Road data is provided by official transportation and weather sources with varying coverage, update delays and usage permissions. The app is a supplemental information service, not a substitute for road signs, dispatcher instructions, or safe driving judgement. Please read alerts only when it is safe to do so.
